Environmental Labelling

ENVIRONMENTAL LABELLING

From 1 January 2023, we will be adopting a new environmental labelling process to facilitate waste disposal. Scroll down to learn more about environmental classification and how to dispose of our products.

What are we talking about?

Italian Leg. Decree 116/2020 provides for the re-marking of packages “for packaging identification and classification purposes”.
This legal obligation requires that all packaging placed on the Italian market be labelled with information on the composition of the materials from which it is made, and we at Scotton have readily complied.

What is the ultimate aim?

To provide guidance to the end consumer on the classification of materials and their disposal. This will enhance and improve the waste disposal process and the related recycling, recovery and re-use of materials.

WHAT ACRONYMS WILL YOU FIND ON OUR BOXES AND WAYBILLS AND ON OUR WEBSITE, AND WHAT DO THEY MEAN?

We will try to explain this to you in simple terms, so that you can dispose of our packaging correctly:

Please always refer to local regulations as different waste collection systems may have specific regulations on the disposal of certain types of materials.

You may also find an additional symbol referring to the French market:

The Triman logo was introduced by French Decree n.-1577 and became effective in France on 1 January 2015 for the marketing of recyclable products for separate waste collection.

By adopting a virtuous behaviour – that is, by paying attention to these acronyms, separating waste appropriately, and adopting a circular economy approach – you will help to reduce the environmental impact of waste and respect the planet, principles that are true cornerstones of Scotton’s philosophy.
